Fun Photos

Here are 4 photos that I find amusing or interesting for different reasons:

Is there any doubt who owns this nice trinket? If it was up to me, I would have advised him to go for the home jersey in onyx and the jersey number and name in ice.

Godfather bling supreme. Added bonus: It goes with the entire wardrobe!

The ultimate way to travel. The Oakland Raiders partner with Air Asia to market the Raider Nation brand globally. Nice ... very nice!

Last but not least, how about some serious ink. Is there any doubts whatsoever that this dude is a die-hard?

You know he's die-hard...he even went with the older Al Davis! If anything...I would've went with a younger version of Al! =P

Why don't you show the pic of Jamarcus all drunk with his fat belly hanging out---what a disgrace he is

Anonymous: A couple quick questions for you:

When you were 23 years old did you go out with your friends and have a drink?

Do you realize these pictures were taken in March before mini-camp?

Do you understand the fact that JRuss showed considerable improvements in the last 6 games in his 1st year as a starter?

The only disgrace is you for acting like a picture tells you the type of man Russell is which is a talented, laid back, YOUNG man who has friends.

You are the type of knucklehead who makes unfounded judements without a clue in the world.

At the end of the day, I couldn't care one bit if Russell goes out with his friends in the offseason. Go ahead and judge him all you want. If he plays well this year, you will be the last guy to say you were flat out wrong.

CJ,

As Raider fans we all have a lot of emotional capital invested in Russell if he bombs the last six years will repeat themselves.

However if you want people to read your blog (it is a good one most of the time) perhaps instead of being insulting you should look at anonymous post again, because there is a good point there.

The series of pics on the web that show Russell's medallion also has one showing his belly which looks similar in size and shape to my pool guy's belly and he is fifty five and walks around with his pants showing his crack.

You missed the point CJ, it’s not about a guy drinking with his friends. This is also not the 70s or 80s or even 90s guys need to dedicate themselves all year round these days to become starts (see Gannon) in the NFL

Furthermore I don’t recall many old time Raiders being out of shape. If a guy cannot keep himself in shape (which not should be hard for a 23 year old) it is a lack of discipline the kind of discipline needed to study defenses and learn playbooks

It’s about the Raiders franchise quarterback who makes eight figurers a year is a fat out of shape pig. It is disrespectful. Commitment to excellence more like commitment to beer and buffets.

Steve:

First off, the least of my concerns is how many people read my blog. I started this blog over 3 years ago to share my unfiltered opinions about the Raiders. If I disagree with someone, I will tell them why. Saying someone is a "disgrace" for going out with a few friends in March is flat out ridiculous.

Secondly, Russell is not out of shape. This is one of the biggest misconceptions that gets fed by the mass media. Russell has always been a very big, thick guy since high school. His physical fitness on the field has NEVER been an issue nor has it ever had any impact whatsoever on his performance.

Thirdly, how do you know what he did that day the pictures were taken? For all we know, Russell spent a big chunk of his time that day working out. To act like going out with a few friends in the offseason for a few drinks is a big deal is losing all perspective.

What really bugs me are all the idiots who prejudge a person without any facts.

Who are you or anyone to insist or demand how Russell spends his free time in the offseason? Do you even have any clue what he actually does on a daily basis?

Russell the QB is no different than a doctor, lawyer or any other profession. He is a normal social being who balances work, family, and friends.

The bottom line in all of these discussion about the Russell "party" photos is that this is much to do about nothing. All that really matters is how he performs on the field in September-December. Do you honestly believe that what he does one night in March gives you a read about his character, work ethic, and dedication? Please.

What you and many people fail to realize is that you don't have any clue how he spends his time. If you knew he spent 3 hours in the gym prior to going out that night would it change your perspective? Would it change your perspective if you learned that he had only 2 drinks that night? The point being is that you are allowing a few harmless photos to make speculations that are unfounded and uninformed. This is prejudging a person.

My comment was not meant to critize him going out with friends no one cares about that. I though I made that clear.

What is concerning is that if you look at Jablingess belly he is completely out of shape. This is not about him being a "thick" guy. Give me a break he is just plain fat and this is not high school this is the NFL. Facts are the pics don't lie and the pics were from this month.

Bottom line are you cool with him being out of shape and undedicated? That's not a rumor, thats not speculation, that has nothing to do with a night of drinking it is a separte fact and his own coach has called him out about that numerous times. Now that we see the pics we know where Cable is coming from. As far as how he spends his time in the offseason we should care and it is obviously not with situps

Whether Jamarcuss turns out to be great or average or crap and I hope it is great the point is he obviously is not dedicated to his craft as much as he could be. That is sad. Name me one quality NFL quarterback who has a belly like that. There are none. I bet guys like Otto see Jamarcuss around the facility and it must disgust him. COme on CJ don't you want the franchise to live and breathe football? Also look at his pics from college he much heavier now. IF a guy can nto keep wait off when he is 23 when he hits the other side of 30 and his metabolisim he is in big trouble. Those rumors about him being over 300 last year do not seem so unfounded.

Therefore whatever his potential is it will go unfullfilled as a Raider fan thats a real shame.

Love the blog but on this one you should take off the rose collored glasses.

Steve:

You need to get your facts straight if you want any credibility.

You write, "Facts are the pics don't lie and the pics were from this month."

Here is a verified fact for you. An article was written on March 13 with these photos on a site called 'Total Pro Sports'. Here is the link:

http://tinyurl.com/ozexft

Now answer me this question:

How is possible that these pictures are posted on March 13 yet you are claiming that the pictures are from this month?

Is there a difference between JRuss going out in early March and this month? Absolutely.

Early March is a good 6+ weeks away from the 1st mini-camp. This was what I meant by one of my earlier comments ... you need to know the facts, context, and situation before you pre-judge someone.

Later you write: "Those rumors about him being over 300 last year do not seem so unfounded."

Really? You believe rumors and take them as the unquestioned truth?

Here are some more facts:

Russell only missed a week of offseason activities following the death of his uncle but otherwise has been at the facility.

Russell had off-season surgery in early February to remove bone chips in his right ankle.

Is it possible Steve that Russell was idle for a month or so in February recuperating from this surgery. I don't doubt that Russell might have been a few pounds heavier in March but I think it is a matter of perspective.

By all accounts, not rumors, Russell was at the Oakland facility throughout March missing 1week to be at home with the death of his uncle.
