Today is the 1st day of mini-camp and the dawn of a new era in Raider football! An era initially marked a few months ago by the hiring of Head Coach Lane Kiffin and stamped with the drafting of #1 pick JaMarcus Russell. Unlike past seasons, this year genuinely feels like a new beginning ... a fresh start. A young, energetic, ambitious head coach ready to take on the world. A young, supernova talented QB looking to become a Raider legend in his own "Big Easy" humble way.
So far, so good in the new era. Kiffin has been making all the right moves and saying all the right things to the media and Raider Nation alike. Russell is the cornerstone of the Raiders future long term success, the face of the organization, and the broad shoulders of the franchsie.
By the way .... Russell's #2 jersey went on sale today at the Raider Image.

Looks like I can take a Silver Sharpie to my Aaron Brooks jersey and save some $ by writin' in "RUSSELL" - LOL!
Did they make a Brooks jersey? I pity the fool that bought one!
stick'em, if it's an authentic, that fool(s) can just have the name plate removed and put on your own or the new player. did that with an authentic woodson recently. these players get traded cut/released. we fans spend MILLIONS on player mechandise and get stuck with these jerseys so i had my own last name put on that #24 instead. if it's a replica, then you are SOL.
don't know yet if i'll invest in a russell jersey. lessee what the guy's got first.
Scorpio ~ Words of wisdom. I was definitely joking about the Brooks jersey - never owned one and never will.
I do know a guy who recently bought a Brooks jersey off of Ebay (for ~$10)with the express purpose of having someone modify it (for ~$10) with a Russell name plate. Basically, he got an authentic for $20.
I quit buyin' player jerseys all together because the cost is a lot greater than the return. Like you, the last one I bought has my name on it.
